Although the shows at the tents don’t kick off until Friday, Fashion week unofficially began last night. Geren Ford showed an exciting and contemporary Spring ’09 collection at the Bowery Hotel. The combination of space, mannequin like models and great styling made for a great show. With one part delicate, one part quirk but all stylish the show was a great way to kick off the week. You can hit up Bendels, Barneys and Intermix to see the line.

Where fashion and art collide is what I would refer to stop two. Fashion illustrator Sarah Singh and PYT designer Arlene Guerra presented their respective mediums Singh-plywood bust and Guerra costume jewelry for a pretty cool look. Albeit the space was a tad petite, the concept and presentation was exceptional. Shout out to the bartender who made a damn good drink!

On to the night’s finale- The Soho Grand for the In Bloom exhibit by photographer Jesse Frohman. Combining one of the final sittings of the late great Kurt Cobain along with stunning images of rare bred Roses, the exhibition drew a stunning crowd. Liz, pictured below was one of those stunning creatures; she had on a dazzling array of gold pieces that made me do a double take. We bonded over our love for large earrings- Thanks Liz for letting me take a pic of you!
Liz reminds me of Sienna Miller, Twiggy and Edie Sedgwick
Stay tuned for more coverage this week- tonight is Gen Art, Yummie Mummie and more!
