You ever get so wrapped up in discovering new brands or get addicted to cheap fast fashion that you forget about the glory of the long standing brands of your youth? I will sorely admit that I had become one of those people. For lack of better fashion judgment I'd abandoned Lucky Brand denim some years back but luckily, I've rediscovered the distinguished denim makers just in time for Fall.
Let me be honest, I wasn't in a fashion bind, as a fashion insider I was able to preview Lucky's Holiday collection and it pulled me in. While viewing the bohemian inspired looks for brrr months, there was a strong since of artist Georgia O'Keefe's abstract Southwestern imagery combined with a slight Persian and Orient influence. I know, that's a lot right there but I was an majored in art in college. Nonetheless, the subtle washes of color and layers of texture had me very excited about a denim brand but what really took me over was my trip to the Lucky Brand store in the Flatiron District to pick up a pair of free denim courtesy of their PR team.
There have been some issues with me and denim shopping recently, I 'm not that happy about my recent weight so I've been avoiding shopping for swimsuits and jeans. I couldn't drag my feet on this one and decided that sometimes you just have to face your fears and conquer it head on. I prepared myself for what would be a depressing and humbling experience and it was actually far from it. With the help of the stunning sales girl I was in and out in less than twenty minutes with a pair of jeans called Sophia Boot. After passing on the Sweet n Low which has an easy fit, a medium rise and a boot cut, I felt sexy and shapely in the Sophia which gave me an amazing tush. The weight of the jean was strong and the wash was just right, not to dark and not to light. When you rediscover a brand you feel a slight since of guilt, but when they embrace you with a great fit and wash, all is forgotten especially when you look great in the rear end.
