National Margarita Day

Every day is a reason to celebrate and besides it being Ash Wednesday it's also National Margarita Day. Tequila, lime juice and triple sec  with or without salt is the basic recipe to bar classic. It can be served on the rocks, blended with ice or straight up. Many claim to have invited the Margarita in the earlier parts of the 20th century but  it wasn't until GQ made it drink of the month in 1953 that it became a bar standard.



Those wanting to celebrate National Margarita Day can go for short and sweet  by using Jose Cuervo Authentic  Light  Margarita. If you don't have a fully stocked bar or  watching your waistline, this product will  save you time, space, money and calories.  I love to pour it over ice in a chilled glass to truly bring out the refreshing taste. The Jose Cuervo brand was the first tequila maker in the new world drop that tidbit of knowledge on your friends tonight while you're celebrating.

The Original Margarita  

Ingredients: 1 oz Cointreau
2 oz Tequila
¾ oz Fresh lime juice
Directions: Shake and strain into a salt rimmed margarita glass
(optional)
Garnish: Lime slice
Glass: Margarita Glass


Cointreau MargaDita

Ingredients: 1 oz. Cointreau
1 oz. Silver Tequila
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
Bar spoon of Monin Rose Syrup
1 pinch Chipotle Spice
Directions: Mix all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake vigorously and pour into a chilled coup glass.
Garnish with floating organic yellow rose petals. For an
added kick, add a chipotle and salt rim.
Garnish: Yellow rose petals.
Glass: Martini Glass


Blood Orange Margarita

Ingredients: 1 oz Cointreau
1 ½ oz Corzo
½ oz Fresh lime
1 oz Blood Orange juice
Dash of simple syrup
Directions: Combine ingredients in a shaker, shake vigorously and
strain over ice into collins glass.
Garnish: None.
Glass: Highball/Long Drink/Collins
