Hyatt Place Ask, Why Settle? With Battle of the Breakfast Bowls

Hyatt Place's Build Your Own Breakfast Bowl consists of premium ingredients like all natural bacon, avocado salsa, cage free eggs and whole grains.

How many times do you hear that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? Well
Hyatt Place is reinventing hotel breakfast with the innovative, nutritious and complimentary Build Your Own Breakfast Bowls and Greek Yogurt Parfaits  at their US and Canada locations.  Fresh off of the "You've Come Too  Far to Settle Now" platform centered on providing  amenities catering to  the needs of  business travelers, the Build Your Own Breakfast Bowls and Greek Yogurt Parfaits are created from premium ingredients including, cage-free eggs as well as  all natural bacon giving guests a nutritious, healthy and delicious kick start to the day.

I had a chance to sample and celebrate the new breakfast offering at the Hyatt Place Midtown South this week as well as bear witness to the drool worthy Battle of the Breakfast Bowls competition hosted by foodie friend in my head ,and Food Network star, Katie Lee.  With the Empire State Building as the back drop, five Institute of Culinary Education students from all walks of life, participated in a high paced down to the wire breakfast showdown. As a fan of cooking contests, I was in  heaven with the sights, scents and sizzles of the cheftestants putting in their all as they chopped, diced and fried all for the chance to win $10,000, a three  night stay at any Hyatt Place and their bowl on the 2018 Hyatt Place menu in the U.S. and Canada.

When the smoke cleared, the panel of judges whom included Lee as well as social media maven Kesenia Avdulova of @BreakfastCriminals and Chef Mark Krystopa, Director of Culinary Operations of Hyatt Place and Hyatt House declared Brooke DiResta the winner with the Nomad Bowl which was composed of  a soft-boiled egg cage free egg, toasted ancient grains, kale, sausage crumbles and charred lemon asparagus ribbons.

Hyatt Place is tapping into the consumer who wants to have easy access to healthy, flavorful and nutritious meals while traveling. So often, and I can easily attest, trying to find a complimentary breakfast that isn't dense on carb heavy  pastries and heavily processed protein is the hardest part of business travel. Now, with Build Your Own Breakfast Bowls and Greek Yogurt Parfaits, business travelers as well as travelers for leisure don't have to settle and can now  partake in fun and nutritious first meal of the day. Oddly enough, I wrestle with embracing breakfast. I'm battling with lack of imagination, as well as attempts to stay on track health-wise but  after  speaking with Katie Lee I didn't feel bad with the same old, same old. "I think it is true that it is the most important meal of the day" Katie told me after announcing the winner. A lover of Greek yogurt and fruit most days, she actually makes sure she has a good breakfast by prepping the night before by setting her coffee pot,  boiling a bunch of eggs and making enough quinoa for a few days.  "For me it's about fuel and feeling good."
