Five Things You Must Do This Weekend

This weekend, head over to Long Island City for Secret Summer

I can't believe it's August, I feel like Rip Van Winkle, I took a nap in May and then I woke up in August. Well, with these dog days of Summer rapidly fading away, you need to make memories because there is nothing better than a New York Summer. So here are a few things to do this weekend to create your  best summer memories.

Start off with brunch at  Sweet Bar Brooklyn. Dubbed Crown Heights' newest gastropub, the DJ sets are epic and  they have a bottomless mimosa special for $28 that rocks. Follow it up by celebrating National Oyster Day  and head over to the no fills boat/restaurant North River Lobster Restaurant for their $1 oyster specials. Cap off the night with some culture with First Saturdays at Brooklyn Museum. Take a look at The Legacy of Lynching: Confronting Racial Terror in America and leave woke.

On Sunday, head over to Riis Park Beach Bazaar where you can work on your tan but truly turn up with the sound collective Get Summered Beach Party and twerk to everything from Funk, Soul, Hip Hop and House music all to your heart's desire but don't forget to RSVP.  If farm to bar cocktails in a historic location are more your cup of tea, then the third annual Secret Summer is how you should round out the weekend. With a menu of  artisanal cocktails, avant garde entertainment and epicurean delightful bites, the only event like this takes place at the stunning Long Island City venue, The Foundry, head here to get your tickets.

That's your weekend round up, try to make some or all but, you'll have something amazing to talk about Monday morning.
